HOW TO DO QUEER HISTORY

A skill-building series that teaches you how to uncover, document, and share queer history. With workshops, visits to community archives, and creative tools, you’ll leave ready to pursue your own history project. Current partners include Queer History Boston, Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center, The LGBT Center National History Archive, and Gerber/Hart LGBTQ+ Library & Archives.

How to Do Queer History can be taken fully online (register below) or during one of our live sessions that run seasonally.

WHAT STUDENTS SAY

“You don't have to have a history degree to document history.”

“Seeing the archive materials made me rethink my approach on my project and the direction I wanted to go in. Also, I loved the conversation in the beginning and people sharing their projects and having time for materials to be pulled to support their project. That was really cool.”

“This was a great class and a really good opportunity to be introduced to other queer archivists, historians, and people in the area! Thank you for running it!

“Always more questions than answers, which is a sign of a great class! I am interested in learning more about the combination of history and arts-based approaches to invite people into our histories through both thinking and feeling.

“I usually hate group work, but this was really fun and didn't make me anxious at all, so no, don't change a thing!”
