Generation Queer Author Talk
Hosted by the Rainbow Lifelong Learning Institute, join author and educator Kimm Topping for an inspiring author talk on their debut book, Generation Queer (Lee & Low Books, 2025), a nonfiction collection celebrating 30 young LGBTQIA+ leaders shaping our world through activism, art, and education. Kimm will share behind- the-scenes insights into the creation of the book, explore major themes, offer readings, and open the floor for discussion. Written as a “curiosity guide,” the book is rich with resources, history, and inspiration for readers of all backgrounds. Blackout Poetry: A Drop-In Creative Workshop Honoring Queer & Trans Love Across Time
Join us for a free, drop-in art workshop celebrating queer and trans stories, memory, and love. Using photographs and poetry by queer artists and community members, we’ll create blackout poetry collages—layering words and images into something entirely your own.
Stop by anytime, stay as long as you’d like, and leave with your finished piece tucked into an envelope to take home or share with someone you love. No experience necessary.
Hosted at the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center, with free museum admission all day.

Amma’s Pride: Visibility, Acceptance and Celebration
Join us for an evening that celebrates the power of storytelling and the voices of a new generation. The night begins with a screening of the award-winning short documentary Amma’s Pride, followed by a special reading and conversation with author Kimm Topping from their debut book Generation Queer: Stories of Youth Organizers, Artists, and Educators—a tribute to young trailblazers shaping a world rooted in intersectional, collaborative social justice. Together, we’ll explore how stories like Amma’s Pride and Generation Queer create spaces of belonging, empathy, and action. The evening concludes with a community dialogue, reflection, and celebration of the next generation of changemakers.
