Art Workshops

We offer art workshops where you can get hands-on with collage, poetry, writing, and other mediums.

Our most popular workshops include…

Mixed-Media Collage

Protest Collage: Join us for a creative mixed-media collage workshop exploring LGBTQIA+ history and activism through art. Participants will use historical images of protests, dried florals, and personal stories to create meaningful pieces.

Art Journaling: Art journaling is a meaningful practice for exploring emotions, goals, and memories through the combined art forms of collage and writing. Each workshop provides prompts to guide participants through their creativity and reflection.

Writing

Biography Writing with Generation Queer: Join author Kimm Topping for a biography workshop based on the book Generation Queer. Write your own biography or one of an LGBTQ+ activist, educator, or artist in the style of Generation Queer. Learn about biography writing and creating meaningful stories that inspire change.

Letters Across Time: Queer Correspondence & Historical Fiction: A writing workshop blending letter-writing and historical fiction. Participants create imagined letters set in various eras of queer history.

Breaking the Block: Stuck in a creative rut? Staring at the blinking cursor of doom? It’s time to shake off the writer’s block and get those words flowing again. Join us for Breaking the Block, a workshop designed to blast through your creative obstacles and reconnect you with your writing.

Queer Joy & Blackout Poetry: This interactive workshop invites you to repurpose existing texts into powerful poetic pieces, highlighting the resilience, joy, and experiences of the LGBTQ+ community. Through guided exercises, we’ll explore the impact of censorship on queer narratives and reclaim space through art and storytelling.
